Hero MotoCorp’s electric brand Vida has introduced a big price drop on its VX2 electric scooter range, making it more accessible to buyers looking for an affordable EV. With the Battery-as-a-Service option, the VX2 now starts at just Rs 45,000, opening the doors for many first-time EV users.
The VX2 is offered in two versions—Go and Plus—both sharing the same 6 kW motor and removable batteries. While the Go model focuses on affordability, the Plus version packs in more range and additional features, striking a good balance between price and performance.
Hero Vida VX2 New Price
Hero’s EV brand Vida has officially announced a major price revision for its VX2 electric scooter lineup. This scooter, a renamed version of the Vida Z, now comes with a starting price of Rs 45,000 if buyers opt for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. For those who prefer owning the battery, the price of the base VX2 Go stands at Rs 85,000, while the better-equipped VX2 Plus is now available at Rs 1 lakh. The BaaS option for the Plus variant lowers the price to Rs 58,000, making both models more attractive to cost-conscious customers. With savings of up to Rs 15,000 on the Go and around Rs 10,000 on the Plus, this update is expected to boost interest among potential EV buyers.
Variants, Battery Options & Riding Range
The VX2 comes in two variants—Go and Plus—and both feature removable battery packs, giving users more flexibility. The Go version houses a single 2.2 kWh battery, offering a certified range of 92 km (IDC). Meanwhile, the Plus variant is fitted with dual batteries, delivering a combined capacity of 3.4 kWh and extending the range up to 142 km under IDC test conditions. Despite the differences in battery setup, both variants run on the same 6 kW swingarm-mounted motor. The Go reaches a top speed of 70 kmph, while the Plus can clock up to 80 kmph, making them both suitable for daily urban rides.
Storage Capacity and Everyday Practicality
When it comes to utility, the VX2 does a good job. Interestingly, the Go variant offers 33.2 litres of underseat storage—more than the Plus version, which provides 27.2 litres. This is likely due to the extra space taken up by the dual batteries in the Plus. For city riders who need to carry bags, groceries, or a helmet, this makes the Go variant slightly more practical in daily use.
Feature Comparison: Go vs Plus
The VX2 Plus comes packed with a 4.3-inch TFT display that supports smartphone integration and features three riding modes—Eco, Ride, and Sport—for different riding conditions. It also gets a front disc brake, offering improved braking performance. On the other hand, the VX2 Go sticks to a basic LCD display, includes only Eco and Ride modes, and comes with drum brakes at both ends. While the Go keeps things simple and affordable, the Plus version brings a more premium riding experience to the table.
Now More Affordable for Everday India
With these new prices and flexible battery plans, Vida has smartly repositioned the VX2 to attract a wider range of buyers, especially those new to electric scooters. The BaaS option significantly reduces the upfront cost, making the scooter far more affordable than most of its competitors in the segment. Whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly city commuter or a feature-rich electric ride, the VX2 now offers both—without forcing you to spend beyond your limits.
The Vida VX2 is not only more accessible but also continues to deliver on practicality, range, and modern features—making it a serious option for anyone thinking of switching to electric.
